TDRA: Redemption

Well, who says we can't run it on two forums?

Drake studied the final moments of the building's construction, leaning most of his weight against the complex's outer wall.

Inside these walls, several buildings sat, each one modified slightly from the basic blueprints for it's own use. The largest 'block' housed three huge stables, obviously not intended for horses, or any other standard mount. The rest of it contained dormitories and storerooms.

The other three buildings were mostly classrooms, with several offices scattered about them.

The grounds covered three square kilometres, and bordered on the edge of thick woodlands. The rest of the area was surrounded by a twenty-four foot wall, keeping anything unwanted out and the students in.

The problem was, as far as exploring went, Drake had only scouted the place from the air, finding a suitable location to build some months ago. This meant that anything could be beyond the walls.

As the last few bricks went into place, there came a metallic cheer from the workers, and, as they came closer to Drake, they turned out to be nothing more than a massive amount of animated suits of armour; made of anything from Copper to Tykerlaight, some a mixture.

Drake watched as they threw their tools into a large pile, which, after they had all been thrown on, was melted down by a column of fire, which seemed to descend from the sky. If one looked up, however, the truth would not be divine intervention.

Flying at a relatively low altitude was a large, winged beast, at least fifty feet long and half that tall, twenty feet of it's length being it's tail. The wingspan was at least a hundred feet.

Welcome to the revamped Dragon Rider Academy.

Due to the fact the old one turned into an overpower fest, and the 'learning skills from lessons' basis vanished.

This time I'm making sure the same thing stays back in the past, which means you can't be a generic badass at combat straight away.

I'm not too fussy on your skill, but please keep grammar in mind. Only those with disabilities will be excused.

Right then, first things first, Dragons.

Dragon eggs will hatch not long after you arrive at the academy, so keep this in mind.

Dragons are saddled by the process of painlessly drilling through the creature's thick carparace, located at the base of the neck, and extending to just behind the beast's shoulder blades. The leather straps are looped through here, and are bolted in place.

A dragon breathes fire using sacks of mixed hydrogen and methane located at the back of the throat, with tubes located along either side of the mouth. The sacks eject the gases and the mixture is ignited by two flint-like structures, one on the bottom of the tongue, the other below this.

Dragon Types

Remember, each has strengths and weaknesses.

You CAN make up your own. Keep 'em sensibly powered, though.

Platinum Dragon
The only dragon that can bend metal with it's standard abilities, although this removes it's fire breathing for a limited time.

Sand Dragon
Can blast enemies with a massive cloud of sand, which can tear at their flesh or blind them.

Sonic Dragon
The fastest type of dragon apart from one other. They are relativly small compared to others, and are amazingly agile.

Hellfire Dragon
These dragons have fire that can burn most substances, but at a cost: Unlike normal Pyro Dragons, water effects them majorly.

Oceanic Dragon
The Hydro equivilent of a Hellfire dragon, they are extremely powerful. They, like Hellfire Dragons, are more vunerable to the opposing element than Hydro dragons, but that is made up with their elemental stability.

Darkness
Dark coloured dragons, with control over shadowy substances.

Light
Opposite of Dark dragon

Dusk
A rare dragon, bred by both a Dark and light dragon. They have powers over dark and light elements, and are generally an orange*-purple colour.


Apocalypse +My permission only! +
Apocalypse dragons are the most powerful breed. They can force aside almost anything with their Apocalyptic fire. When they are severely injured, or there rider is, they will instantly go into a berserking mode, causing their power to increase.


Destroyer
The lesser of an Apocalypse dragon.

Shadow
A severely increased darkness dragon, which breaths Shadowfire, which can burn more than normal fire.

Ray
Same as shadow, but for light. They breathe Rayfire, which can neutralise Shadowfire into normal fire.

Hydro (Water)
A water dragon. Designed for swimming

Ice
Ice dragon, adapted for artic

Lava
Lava dragons are extremely strange. They have normal scales and eyes, yet have a natural, rocky armour that can be shed and created at will.

Pyro
Fire dragon. Likes to burn things.

Appearance:

Drake stands an average Five foot nine, with a unremarkable build. He has a criss-cross of scars across his arms from dealing with Dragons.

His lower face is covered with a dark grey stubble, which rarely grows beyond it's current state. His eyebrows are relatively thin, and are the same black as his hair.

His hair is cut rather short and is a deep black, with a few strands bordering on grey.


Clothing: Drake wears a simple deep-grey robe top, and the same coloured bottoms. He may sometimes wear a hood, although this is rather rare.

Armour: Drake wears silver platemail armour, ornately carved with 'Draconic' symbols. The helmet is carved to roughly resemble the visage of a Dragon. He also carries a shield.

Weaponry: Longsword, with an ornately patterned handle.

Race Desc.: A standard Arkanul demon is a roughly human-sized, winged demon with immense strength and amazing spells of healing. However, if a human and one of these demons has a child, it has the initiative to use these powers properly, not just based on instinct

Appearance:

Let's start with his human(ish) form

Hyraku stands around 6 feet tall, mostly due to the genes of his demonic side. He is incredibly fit, and has a slightly muscular build. His skin is incredibly pale, mostly due his time spent inside the caverns that the Arkunal reside in.His face is of an average proportion, and his lips seem unnaturaly thin. His eyes are a deep scarlet red, and the pupils are a reptillian slit. Although you wouldn't notice this, as his fringe often covers them. His hair reaches the bottom of his jaw, and is a deep black, and spikes off slightly, due to his demonic side's horns.

His back also houses slightly smaller versons of his Demonic wings.

And now, his demonic form.

This stands roughly seven and a half feet, and is rather ugly. His face has a snout that is roughly a foot long, and most of his teeth jutt out from his muzzle. His eyes remain the same red. Two two-foot forms jutt out from the back of his skull, surrounded by smaller spikes. At the end of his snout are two horns, one behind the other. They are like a miniture Rhinos, and are used in much the same way.

Hyraku's back is mostly covered by his massive thirty foot wingspan. Each wing has five supporting bone struts, and a talon on the upper joint. Between his wings, however, are rows of miniture spines.

Each of Hyraku's fingers ends in a sharp, two-inch talon.
His feet also have slightly larger versions of these claws.

His back ends in a seven foot tail, used as a rudder during flight, and as a flail on the ground. At the end of the tail is a blunt spike.

Clothing: Varying array of light armour or simple clothing

Armour: Due to the fact only his human form can wear armour, he wears a somewhat simple red plate and helmet, patterned with a spiralling dragon, which starts at his left thigh and ends on his chest.

Weaponry: Twin balanced Shortswords, which turn into Longswords in Demonic form.
